To underline importance of proper resource management and especially the human resources, in Engine Room operations. To increase awareness regarding managerial aspects of Engine Room operations, like situation awareness, team management, human behaviour, error chain analysis, communication and response, with practical exercises on very detailed state-of-the-art Engine Room Simulator (MAN ME).

- The meaning and need of Resource Management in the Engine Room
- Management and Organization Principles and Techniques
- Human Factor, Stress management, Workload, Fatigue
- Techniques to Reduce Operational Costs
- Techniques to Improve Safety Consciousness
- Techniques to Reduce Risks in the Engine Room
- E/R Simulator Practice in Engine Room Operations including among others: prepare from cold ship to fully operational ship, emergency starting procedures, routine malfunctions and malfunctions caused by the instructor, collection and management of information for the necessary troubleshooting
TRAINING METHODOLOGY:
Combination of lecture through PowerPoint presentation, case study analysis, written assessment and practice on Engine Room Simulator (malfunction detection, alarm signals, difficulties & remedies in real circumstances)
LANGUAGE:
Course delivery in Greek/English while training materials in English.
