New Year, new practices, same goals!

Dear clients & partners,

Happy New Year! Whichever way you spent the holidays, I hope you had an enjoyable festive season.

Of course, the New Year is a time for looking back as well as looking forward.

At QMS Maritime Center, we are very proud of what we managed to achieve during the last couple of years. Like every business, we were hit hard by the pandemic, not been able to deliver our quality, accredited range of courses in our classrooms, as we had been doing so successfully over the past 30 years for over 30,000 trainees. The pandemic threatened our very core of business; nevertheless, we took that threat and turned it to an opportunity.

Our technical team worked intuitively together with our course tutors and managed to transform the vast majority of classroom maritime courses (STCW, Refresh Seminars, Technical, Operational, Management) to fully functional, fully accredited and approved online courses with the use of state-of-the-art online simulators provided by top-tier maritime international software developers.

As a result, at QMS Maritime Training Center we managed to set a new course for maritime training, one that since its launch has allowed shipping companies to save dramatically on time and money regarding training-related costs (accommodation, transportation etc). Our online maritime training courses have allowed shipping companies and their seafarers to attend courses from virtually anywhere in the world simultaneously, enjoying the comfort of their houses, Covid19 risk-free, regardless of geographic location and time differences, without the need to travel and get accommodation locally to the training center as it would happen with classroom courses. Seafarers from Greece, Spain, Croatia, Vladivostok in Russia and the Philippines were able to attend the very same BRM online course simultaneously, marking an unprecedented new way of maritime training. Such an astonishing development!

It was really a special period for us.

We celebrate 30 years of Ethical Maritime Training!

Which brings us on to 2022. Itโ€™s also going to be a memorable year, as it marks QMS Maritime Training Centerโ€™s 30th anniversary of ethical maritime training. The kind of maritime training that pays every attention to quality, fully outlined and detailed courses, delivered by quality, on-the-job experienced tutors, running on full syllabus cycles, without cutting corners regarding course duration and participation. The kind of maritime training that shipping companies need in order to minimize the risk of receiving deficiencies during vetting and Port Side Control inspections, and tackle safety and environmental issues successfully and proactively, before the need for any maritime damage control arises.

On behalf of all of us at QMS Maritime Training Center, we wish you a happy New Year.
